Kevawn Lord
Kevawn Lord is a member of our Community Responder Team. Kevawn attended Amherst public schools before ultimately graduating from West Springfield High. He then went on to pursue his Associate’s Degree in Business Management and collegiate athletics career at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, CA. Then returning to Western Massachusetts, he attended Westfield State University, majoring in Business Marketing. During this time, he began working at Behavioral Health Network as a support specialist, and was also a member of Westfield’s Basketball Team. Kevawn was inspired to do this work by his aunt, Heather Hala Lord, who has done a lot of work regarding restorative justice, anti-racism, education, and community outreach within Amherst. Kevawn is from a small but tightknit family of Amherst residents, his mother Sara, sister Ninisa, Hamza, Cousin Khalila, and Aunt Heather. Lord says his motivation for this position is based on his love of his family, longtime community, and opportunity for growth.
