Art on the Lawn & Strings at the Strong at the Amherst History Museum

On Saturday, September 9, join us for a day of art and music at the Amherst History Museum. The festivities begin at 11:00am when artists and crafters will be set up on the lawn of the museum selling their work. From 11:00am to 1:00pm, Linda Gordon, fiber artist & member of the Raging Grannies, will provide a spinning demonstration on the covered porch at the museum. At 2:00pm, the Amethyst String Quartet performs in the garden as part of our Strings at the Strong music series. Some seating will be provided. Stop by to visit and chat with the artists. Come into the museum to see our newest exhibit, The Magnificent Life & Art of Mabel Loomis Todd, take a tour of the newly reinstalled rooms in the house, peruse books in the reading room, and view our extensive clothing textile collection. Stay for the music. Art on the Lawn & Strings at the Strong are free and open to the public. Entry to the museum is free. A $5 suggested donation is greatly appreciated.
