The National MRC movement was founded under the auspices of the Surgeon General following the events of September 11th, 2001, and there are now thousands of local MRC chapters throughout the country who are trained to work in concert with local first responders in the event of a weather emergency, public health emergency, or other event necessitating a coordinated response from multiple agencies.
MRC volunteers can be actively engaged in ongoing trainings, meetings and public outreach efforts, or can simply be listed in a database of citizens willing to lend a hand during actual emergencies. The required trainings and time commitment are minimal.
We are currently seeking IT professionals, business owners, veterinarians, and any other interested resident who has time, skill or enthusiasm to share!
