“Heating and lighting our historic Town Hall and other town offices is too costly to warrant those offices staying open during a time of minimal use,” Amherst Town Manager Larry Shaffer said. “After talking with our Department Heads, we felt our taxpayers would be best served by the following 2008 Holiday Schedule.”
All Amherst Town Hall offices will offer extended hours on Monday December 22nd and Tuesday December 23rd, from 8:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Town offices in other buildings will follow their normal schedule for those two days.
All offices in the Amherst Town Hall, Bangs Community Center, Department of Public Works, and Transfer Station will be closed on Wednesday, December 24th; Thursday, December 25th; and Friday, December 26th .
All offices will reopen on Monday, December 29th for regular hours through Wednesday, December 31st. Offices will close at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31st and remain closed until Monday, January 5th, 2009 at 8:00 a.m.
Town of Amherst offices Schedule for the 2008-2009 Holiday Season:
• Monday, December 22, 2008- All Town Hall offices open from 8:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, December 23, 2008- All Town Hall offices open from 8:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
• Wednesday, December 24, 2008- All Town offices closed.
• Thursday, December 25, 2008- All Town offices closed.
• Friday, December 26, 2008- All Town offices closed.
• Monday, December 29, 2008 - All Town offices open from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, December 30, 2008- All Town offices open from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
• Wednesday, December 31, 2008- All Town offices open from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
• Thursday, January 1, 2009- All Town offices closed.
• Friday, January 2, 2009- All Town offices closed.
