Notice of Public Meeting
Town of Amherst
The Community Development Committee for the Town of Amherst will hold a Public Hearing to:
1. Discuss and receive comments on the Town’s Community Development Block Grant Activities including the 2007 Community Development Fund Program, the Town’s 2007 HDSP Program and the Town’s FY 08 Mini-Entitlement Program.
2. Discuss the Town’s updated Community Development Strategy.
As part of the Town’s 2009 CDBG application it is required to submit a Community Development Strategy that describes the Communities efforts to implement a combination of development, conservation, and community service strategies according to principles that have since come to be called “sustainable development. The Community Development Strategy is a document that reflects these concerns and can act as a guiding principal for community revitalization and development. The Community Development strategy reflects prior planning as well as the Master Plan that has been developed over the past three years. The Community Development Strategy can be located on the Community Development's page.
The Hearing will be held December 3, 2008, 6:30 in Room 101 of the Bangs Community Center.
Any person or organization wishing to be heard will be afforded an opportunity. Reasonable accommodations will be attempted upon written request to the Selectmen’s office two weeks prior to the meeting.
