The Amherst Select Board and Town Manager encourage civic minded members of the Amherst community to apply for voluntary service on one of the Town of Amherst’s boards, commissions or committees.
One of the jobs of the Select Board and the Town Manager is to fill in vacancies on committees. These committees are the life blood of our Town and do an impressive amount of work for our community. At this time, the committees listed below have vacancies:
Amherst Cultural Council
Board of Assessors
Cherry Hill Advisory Committee
Community Development Committee
Conservation Commission
Hampshire Regional Emergency Committee
Human Rights Commission (two students of high school and/or college/university level to serve for one (1) academic school year).
Kanegasaki Sister City Committee
Kendrick Park Committee
La Paz Centro, Nicaragua Sister City Committee
Leisure Services & Supplemental Education Commission
Nyeri, Kenya Sister City Committee
Planning Board
Public Art Commission
Public Transportation
Public Works Committee
Recycling & Refuse Management Committee
Town/Commercial Relations Committee
