[ARCHIVED] Amherst BID Announces 2023 Friday Summer Music on The Common

Summer Series Square 2023_news

The Amherst BID is thrilled to announce the lineup for the 3rd annual Friday Night Summer Concert Series on the South Common! This summer concert series has been made possible with the generous support and sponsorship of Encharter Insurance to whom we are very grateful.

For the last 2 summers, the BID produced 4 remarkable nights of live music on the South Common, free for all, these multigenerational family evenings are a huge success for our downtown. This summer we are back and better than before with a remarkable lineup of acts!

On Friday, July 21 the BID welcomes back UMASS and the “JAZZ IN JULY ALL STAR CONCERT” led by David Picchi, then on Friday, July 28 Grammy-winning Children’s performer MISTER G will take the stage before local fav blues singer-songwriter Eric Lee and Co rock us through the night.  Starting off the August 4th evening we welcome Dawn LeFever & Band before the ULTIMATE Can Morrison Tribute Band: Moondance takes us back to a “marvelous night for a moon dance!” Finalizing the series on August 11 the fabulous and remarkable Naomi Nye and Kimaya Diggs get us all moving and grooving!

These events will be free for all, starting at 6 pm. These evenings will also host local breweries Abandoned Building and downtown‘s newest addition White Lion Brewing, our favorite local cider makers Artifact, and Black Birch Vineyards wine for our over 21 guests.

We encourage all to attend, bring a blanket, and some chairs, and enjoy the incredible offerings of our downtown's stunning global cuisine for dine-in or takeaway to the concert.
