As the academic year ends, we anticipate increased traffic Memorial Day weekend as commencement ceremonies for Amherst College and the University of Massachusetts take place in the town. These ceremonies are a time of celebration for the graduates and their families. We recognize and applaud our area graduates and their respective families during graduation ceremonies conducted at each campus.
Our downtown businesses are open and welcome your business! There are many new restaurants, and some tried-and-true establishments that you definitely want to visit while in Amherst.
We encourage everyone to be mindful of increased traffic around the ceremony locations and to plan accordingly for any travel arrangements. In some cases, during these events, there may be select detours or detail officers directing traffic. Please adhere to any posted signage and traffic instructions from officers. We want to congratulate all the students at Hampshire College, Mt.
