TOWN COUNCIL PRIMER/INFORMATION SESSION & PUBLIC FORUM 

 PROPOSED REORGANIZATION OF TOWN AGENCIES: 

DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION (DEI) OFFICE & COMMUNITY RESPONDERS FOR EQUITY, SAFETY, AND SERVICE (CRESS)

 The Town Council will review and act on proposals by the Town Manager to establish two new Town agencies: 

  •  Community Responders for Equity, Safety, and Service (CRESS)
  • Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)

 On Thursday, December 9, starting at 5:30pm the Town Services and Outreach Committee of the Town Council will hold a primer/information session on the Town Manager’s proposals. This is an opportunity for the public to learn about these two new Town agencies. 

 Immediately following the primer/information session, in accordance with Charter Section 6.1, the Town Services and Outreach Committee will hold two VIRTUAL PUBLIC FORUMS via Zoom. These are an opportunity for the public to ask questions and provide comments to the Town Council.

 According to Charter Section 6.1, “A reorganization plan presented by the Town Manager to the Town Council under this Section shall not be amended by the Town Council but shall either be approved or rejected as submitted.” The Town Services and Outreach Committee asks participating members of the public to offer their feedback to guide the Town Council in deciding whether to approve or reject the proposal to create these new Town agencies.
