[ARCHIVED] Proposed Bylaw Removal - Bylaw 3.15 Activities and Amusements

The Town Council will hold a first reading on a proposed bylaw REMOVAL, General Bylaw 3.15, Activities and Amusements, at the regular Town Council meeting on Monday December 6, 2021 at 6:30 p.m., a second reading and potential vote is scheduled for the Town Council meeting on Monday, December 13, 2021 at 7:30 p.m.

Unless otherwise provided by general law or this Charter, every vote adopting, amending, or rescinding a bylaw shall become effective at the expiration of 14 days after final passage or a specified later date.

The current bylaw 3.15, Activities and Amusements is as follows, and the current General Bylaws are available online here:

3.15 – ACTIVITIES AND AMUSEMENTS

PENALTIES FOR VIOLATING THE ACTIVITIES AND AMUSEMENTS BYLAW
 Criminal Enforcement: $200.00 fine 

Noncriminal Disposition: $200.00 penalty (enforcement by: Police Officers) 

No person shall play at ball or any similar amusement in any street. No person or group of persons, while playing at ball or engaging in any amusement or activity in any park or common of this town, shall interfere with another event or activity already in progress or previously reserved.

This notice is posted in compliance with Charter Section 2.10(a), and Town Council Rules of Procedure rule 8.3.
