Amherst Communications Manager, Brianna Sunryd, was recently appointed to the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) Digital Strategies Advisory Board. With over 12,000 members, the ICMA is the world's leading association of professional city/county managers and other employees who serve local governments.

Amherst Town Manager Paul Bockelman said, “Brianna’s appointment is a testament to her leadership capabilities. As Communications Manager with the Town, she strives to make local government accessible and responsive to the public.”

The Digital Strategies Advisory Board helps to identify the knowledge-sharing needs of local government professionals, establishes best practices, and works to develop future contributions to the digital community of local governments and their residents. The work of these committees helps to shape the future of the local government profession and adds value to the work of our organizations.

In addition to her role as Communications Manager, Sunryd is a member of the Town’s Information Technology Department and one of the Town’s three Community Participation Officers. Sunryd is also the founder and president of the student chapter of the ICMA at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where, in addition to her full-time job, is working towards a Master’s degree in Public Policy & Administration at the School of Public Policy.
