The Amherst, Massachusetts Police Department is accepting applications to fill the position of Police Officer. Successful applicants must be 21 years of age on or before the application closing date of July 1, 2019 and must have successfully completed either:
- Sixty (60) college credits with a 2.0 G.P.A. from an accredited college or university, OR
- Two (2) years of full-time, active military service in the United States Armed Forces with an honorable discharge and possess a high school diploma/GED OR
- A full time (22 week) Massachusetts Municipal Police Academy Certification or be able to obtain a waiver for an out of state police certification from the Massachusetts Criminal Justice Training Committee, before being considered.
- Amherst Police Officers must reside within 15 miles of the geographic limits of the Town of Amherst within 1 year of appointment.
