[ARCHIVED] Zero Energy Building Tour June 9th - You're Invited!

The Zero Energy Building Bylaw commits all new town building construction to be zero energy buildings- buildings with renewable energy systems that generate all the energy the building needs annually. Amherst Mothers Out Front, Climate Action Now and Sustaining Amherst have partnered to provide guided tours of four zero energy buildings in Amherst.  The tour begins at 9:00 AM on Saturday, June 9th at UMASS Amherst Crotty Hall located at 411- 417 North Pleasant Street.  The tour will continue to the Hitchcock Center for the Environment located at 845 West Street at 10:30 AM, immediately followed by a tour of the Hampshire College Kern Center located at 893 West Street at noon. Participants are encouraged to bring a bag lunch for a lunch break from 1:00PM- 2:00 PM.  The tour will resume at 2:00 PM at the South Congregational Church located at 1066 South East Street.  

  

Participants are welcome to join tours at any point and are free to drop in and out as schedules allow.  This event is free and open to the public.
