In support of “Small Business Saturday” and the local restaurants, retailers and service providers, there will be free parking in all the public parking lots and on-street metered spaces throughout downtown Amherst on Saturday, November 28, 2015. This is by vote of the Select Board 10-26-15, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and the BID, and kicks off the holiday shopping season. Time limits and safety restrictions apply, and will be enforced for the benefit of all downtown visitors.
There will also be free parking throughout the downtown on Saturday, December 5th, to coincide with “Greeting Card Day.”
Saturdays December 12th and 19th will feature free parking in all the public parking lots with the pay-by-space machines (Boltwood Garage, Town-owned portion of the CVS lot, Amity St. lot, Town Hall lot, Main St. lot, and Spring St. lot).
