The Amherst Public Art Commission has launched an online tour guide of all of Amherst's art venues and public art. The Tour Guide is in the form of a mobile-friendly interactive map of 59 sites, with images and descriptions of each artwork or art venue. The tour can be accessed via a smart phone or tablet for portable use, and is GPS-integrated for easy navigation.
Also available for the first time is a printed tour guide that can be either downloaded from the Commission's website or found in various locations in Amherst Center, including the Chamber of Commerce, Jones Library, Amherst Books, any of the Art Walk venues,
The Public Art Commission extends its appreciation to the Amherst Cultural Council and the Amherst Business Improvement District (BID) for financial support of the printed art guide. The Public Art Commission also extends its appreciation to Town of Amherst GIS Administrator Michael Olkin for his patience and creativity in helping prepare the online art tour.
