The Amherst Fire Department will hold its annual Fire Prevention Open House at the Central Fire Station in downtown Amherst on Saturday, October 3rd, from 10am until 2pm. This open house coincides with the beginning of National Fire Prevention week. There will be fire and rescue apparatus and equipment on display, periodic demonstrations of the "Jaws of Life" and fire extinguishers, fire safety displays and handouts, refreshments AND a visit by Smokey Bear. Event held rain or shine.
