The Amherst Public Art Commission is hosting three open forums to gather community input on what kind of public art Amherst residents want and need, and how to fund it. The forums follow an Oct. 23, 2014 meeting of an ad hoc group of stakeholders in Amherst's public art at which it was decided to broaden the discussion to include as many members of the community as possible who had an interest in the future of public art in Amherst. The forums are part of a larger effort by the Amherst Public Art Commission to enhance the quality of life for Amherst residents as well as increasing Amherst’s appeal as an arts destination and support for its businesses. Forums are all at the Amherst Town Hall, Town Room on Thursday, January 22, 10:00 AM - Noon, Thursday, January 29, 7:00 - 9:00 PM and February 2, 7:00 - 9:00 PM.
