Town of Amherst
The Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) has designated the Town of Amherst a Mini-Entitlement Community for the purpose of receiving Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. Amherst is eligible to receive a maximum of $825,000 in block grant funds for housing, community development projects, and social service activities benefiting low-and moderate-income citizens. In accordance with DHCD regulations, Amherst’s CDBG Advisory Committee will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. in the Glass Room in the Bangs Community Center (70 Boltwood Walk, Amherst, MA 01002) to receive comments and suggestions from citizens and local residents regarding
• The proposals recommended for funding for social service and non-social service activities.
• The 2015 Community Development Strategy
• Currently funded activities of the 2013 CDBG Mini-entitlement grant
