Amherst Arts Night Plus (Virtual)

This televised "art walk" consists of a series of back-to-back interviews with area artists who have exhibited in Amherst galleries since November 2019. The interviews are 15 minutes each and are conducted by Eva Fierst and Betsy Stone, co-chairs of the region's Art Salon, The interviews are drawn from a new Amherst Media program, "Pictures at an Exhibition," produced and directed by Eric Broudy, treasurer of Amherst Arts Night Plus. The following 10 artists are represented in this special Arts Night Plus program: Constance Hamilton, Fran Corriveau, Laura Radwell, Avital Sagalyn, Bernie Kubiak, Richard Cohen, Michael Zide, Christine Copeland, Procheta Olsen, and Anne Burton. Their work has appeared in these galleries as part of the "Pictures at an Exhibition" program: Gallery A3, the University Museum of Contemporary Art, Hope and Feathers Gallery & Frame Shop, Town Hall Gallery, Visitors Center Gallery, and the Jewish Community of Amherst Hall Gallery.

"During this difficult and disorientating crisis, I think it's important to keep the arts front and center," Broudy said. "By continuing Arts Night Plus in this manner in April, we hope to offer the  joy and solace, the inspiration and sense of continuity that the arts are uniquely suited to provide. I'm hoping we can do something similar in the months ahead as long as galleries are closed."

Forthcoming interviews at additional Amherst galleries have been cancelled until further notice due to the coronavirus crisis. "Pictures at an Exhibition" is made possible with the assistance of a grant from the Amherst Cultural Council, a local affiliate of the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
