As of April 3, 2020 and until further notice: Due to the current Covid-19 (Corona Virus) situation, the Inspections Services Department is taking the following steps to protect both the public and Town employees. We have been working remotely, however, all services can be expected to continue with some modifications while the Town Hall remains closed. Please note the following:
PERMITS-- applications are being processed in normal timeframes. Please access applications here. Mail to: Inspection Services, Town of Amherst, 4 Boltwood Avenue, Amherst, MA 01002. Electronic copies of plans will be needed and can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org or mailed on a thumb drive. Please submit a complete application to ensure prompt issuance.
INSPECTIONS—we will continue to conduct inspections. Inspection requests can be made in the usual manner. Please call 413-259-3030 and follow the prompts. Most inspections will be conducted virtually, by review of photos or other means, as necessary to keep the project moving forward. We will contact you once requested.
PROJECT PLANNING AND MEETINGS – we continue to be available to discuss current and upcoming projects. We are having success scheduling these meetings using ZOOM and Microsoft Teams but will try to accommodate each situation if other options are available.
Please Contact Jennifer Mullins, Permit Administrator, at email@example.com with any questions or for assistance.
