The Amherst Boys & Girls Club is dedicated to making a difference in your life by giving you access to great programs, activities, and social experiences in a fun and structured environment. Our Club is open to all young adults, ages 9-18, looking for a place where they can meet up with other kids to relax, play games, and even get some extra help with school. But the most important thing you’ll do at the Amherst Boys & Girls Club is learn about yourself and the kind of person you’re capable of being.

The Amherst Family Center (AFC) empowers women and men of diverse backgrounds to succeed as parents, grandparents, and caregivers. The AFC is open to any Hampshire County or University affiliated family with young children birth to 5 years. The AFC provides families with an array of parenting education workshops and support groups, parent-to-parent peer support, and respite from the overall pressures of parenting. Parents receive information on child development, parenting, role modeling, and direct instruction on positive adult-child interactions. Children have the opportunity for early socialization experiences and are screened for developmental needs.

The Amherst Leisure Services and Supplemental Education (LSSE) provides a wide range of recreational and educational programs for every member of the community. LSSE offers afterschool and school vacation programs, as well as performing arts, craft and sports programing for children and youth. Adults can engage in a variety of programs dedicated to enhancing health and fitness, visual arts, sports, hobbies and personal development.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County provides long-term one-to-one mentoring matches for children who could benefit from extra adult attention and friendship. Children ages 6-18 are matched with caring adults in the community to spend time together each week for at least one year. A team of case managers screen Bigs and Littles to make and oversee matches based on gender, geography, and interests.
