- February 17, 2015 - TMCC Budget Forum "Our Town, Our Money" - Tues., Feb. 17 at 7 PM in the Town Room. Town Meeting members are encouraged to attend this important informational meeting. The purpose of the meeting will be to explain how the Town of Amherst creates its budget and how and when residents can most effectively make budget requests. Presenters will be Finance Director Sandy Pooler, Finance Committee Chair Kay Moran, School Finance Director Sean Mangano and former member of the Select Board Gerry Weiss. Come to the Zoning Questions & Answers Forum. We will have a brief overview of zoning in general by Chris Brestrup and then hear about specifics of upcoming articles that will be decided at Fall Special Town Meeting. Most of the time will be for audience members to ask specific questions about zoning articles and our Zoning Bylaw. Planning Board members and petitioners will answer your questions. Now is the perfect time for you to get involved! Because of redistricting, all 240 Town Meeting seats are up for election this spring. - Petition articles for Annual Town Meeting require 10 signatures. See “How to File a Petition Article” (PDF) in the TM info page at www.amherstma.gov/tminfo .
- Attention All Current Town Meeting Members: Due to the re-drawing of precinct boundary lines, all current town meeting members, regardless of the date their term expires, will be required to file nomination papers to have their name placed on the 2012 Annual Town Election ballot if they wish to remain in Town Meeting. Twenty-4 town meeting members will be elected in each precinct. Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. was the last day and hour to file nomination papers at the Town Clerk's office for Town Meeting and Town-Wide office. It only takes 1 signature to file a nomination paper.

- *Learn about Article 11 Capital - Sewer Extension Project - a public presentation of the Sewer Extension Master Plan by Camp Dresser and Mckee Inc., the engineering firm that was hired to revise the sewer plan, was held on October 11, 2011. It will be rebroadcast on cable channel 17. See Public Works Wastewater page for a copy of this plan and more information. There is a public comment period until October 24 when the Select Board will decide to accept the plan, request revisions, or reject the plan. Public comment can be addressed to Publicworks@amherstma.gov.

May 2, 2016 - Orientation for New Town Meeting Members is at 6:00 pm in the Middle School. Look for signs to the room which is in the hallway north of the cafeteria. The meeting will be finished in time for folks to check in and receive their clickers. See flyer.

- Saturday, March 17 - Meet your Precinct's Town Meeting Candidates This is a pre-election opportunity for any and all Amherst residents to meet their Town Meeting candidates and learn their views on issues facing Amherst, sponsored by the Town Meeting Coordinating Committee and moderated by the League of Women Voters of Amherst. Fall 2017 Special Town Meeting begins on Monday November 6, 2017 at 7:00 pm in the Middle School Auditorium. Additional dates of November 8, 9, 13, 15, 16, 20 and 29, as well as December 4 , 2017 have been reserved for additional sessions as needed.
Residents can contact Town Meeting members by email. Visit www.amherstma.gov/3323/ContactTM . Click on, fill out and submit a simple form with your comments that will automatically be sent to TM members in your precinct who have opted to receive these emails.
