Permit Parking

Parking Permits Available for $25
A permit is $25 and is required from September 1 through May 31 on side streets that circle Town Center. The street are marked with signs, mostly blue and white, indicating the permit area. Permits are purchased at Central Services on the first floor of Town Hall. Current license and registration are required, along with some evidence of employment or residency in Town Center.

Permit users must observe the overnight parking ban from December 1 through April 1 each winter and find alternate arrangements. There is no on street overnight parking in Amherst during this time frame each winter.

Application for Town Center Permit is the form for those who live or work in the downtown business district and need long term parking.

Application For Resident Area Permit is the form for residents of neighborhoods just north of downtown, including Allen and Nutting (between Fearing and Phillips) or McClellan (between Beston and Lincoln) as marked with green and white permit signs.
