S.H.I.N.E. (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders)
S.H.I.N.E offers confidential counseling and assistance to medicare beneficiaries.
They also provide assistance with Medigap, HMO coverage, Medicare, Prescription
Advantage, public benefits and more.
The Amherst Senior Center's S.H.I.N.E. counselors, have appointments on the 1st and the 3rd Monday afternoon each month. Call the Senior Center at 413-259-3060 to schedule an appointment.
Town of Amherst Emergency Funds Program
The Emergency Funds Program helps Amherst citizens who are facing a financial emergency and are without financial resources to resolve the crisis. The program helps sustain housing by providing a one-time payment that will assist with rental arrears, utility bills, transportation or medical emergency expenses.
